Delightful Sisters,
You are all so much fun! Am hoping you are as excited and thrilled about the blog (a new thing J) as I am! Also hoping that you have found a few minutes to “drop by” for a visit!
Are you coming up for air like me? There have been so many new things that the Father has journeyed me through and it is not even the end of the first quarter of the calendar year.
Hosea 6:3a (NIV) “Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him.”
Each of us has taken some solitary time seeking the Father in His Word. What verse/verses should be memorized and/or meditated? Which speak to what I am journeying through? Which breathes God’s breath in me? Which speaks of my identity in God? Which imparts God’s profound love for me? Which fills my heart with gratitude? Our list can go on and on! But now….
Drum roll!!!!! Spiral notebooks in hand with recorded verse/verses!
Post your #2 Scripture Memorization/Meditation verse/verses! You have been given the Spirit of power, love and sound mind (Natalie Couch’s 1st verse)
Quick refresher: post your name, verse/verses, reference, translation! Don’t forget to review your 1st selection after you have memorized/meditated on the current. Review often!
Since I am currently studying the book of Isaiah, my verse/verses will come from that study!
The context of my verse is one thing that the Father said He would do for Cyrus, the pagan Medo-Persian king who conquered Babylon and allowed the Jewish exiles to return to Jerusalem . God ensured Cyrus’ success by doing many things for him. Cyrus also financed the rebuilding of God’s temple, returning the items that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken from the temple. The treasures of darkness referred to the wealth of the vanquished pagan nations, customarily concealed in subterranean walls. Treasures of darkness came from darkness, spiritually and literally.
During those dark times in my life, the treasures God gave me of Who He is are unspeakable and valued more than silver and gold. And…His grace simply amazing!
Isaiah 45:3 (NIV) “I (Sovereign Lord) will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD (yhwh..Yahweh), the God of Olda (Israel ), who summons you by name.”
Girlies, I have prayed for you to delight in the Lord as you memorize/meditate…taste and see that He is good in and through everything you are journeying. Remember: You are engraved in the palm of His hand! You will never be forgotten! (Jill Stuart’s 1st verse!) He has a plan for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future! (Holly Talley’s 1st verse)
Those who were in the service a couple of Sundays ago heard the Father through Brian, Tish and the Praise Team speak His Words of love over them. We were washed with the Word! Glory!!!!
I love you!
This is my next verse: It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8 (ESV) Holly Talley
ReplyDeleteSalt and Light- Matthew 5:13-16
ReplyDelete13 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.14 "You are the light of the world.A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. (NIV) Tish Pouliot

ReplyDelete"Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought ito captivity to the obedience of Christ". 2Cor, 10:5 (NKJMS)
Sometimes I think I can figure God out. I think about, and then decide what He would say in certain situations, and how He would deal with things I am not strong enough to deal with. When life isn't going as I thought it should, I imagine what God must be thinking that He would decide to walk with me down this path instead of that one over there. In thinking about what's going on in Japan, I found myself wailing over the sadness and thinking, there's no way God wanted this to happen to those poor people. But then I remembered Isaiah 53 tells us that the Lord was PLEASED to crush His own Son and to put Him to grief, and I understood I can not even begin to figure Him out. He doesn't think like we do (Praise Him!) For this reason, I have chosen Isaiah 55:8-9 for my next Scripture memory:
ReplyDelete"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," declares the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." (New American Standard)
If only I would fully trust Him, I am sure I would never have to try to figure Him out.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you will not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:28-29

Leslee Chapman verse this week to continue with the same .. Isaiah 6:1-8
ReplyDeleteIn the year that King Uzziah died ,I saw the Lord, seated on a throne high and exalted, the train of his robe filled the temple.
Above him were 2 seraphs each with 6 wings, with 2 wings they covered their faces,w 2 they
,covered their feet and with two they were flying. and they were caling to one another.
" HOly ,Holy ,Holy is the Lord Almighty
. The whole earth is full with his glory.
At the sound of their voices , the door post and the thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke .
" Woe to me, I cried, I am ruined. For I am a man of uncleaned lips and live among a people of unclean lips and my eyes has seen the King, the Lord, Almighty."
Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand , which he had taken with tongs from the altar .
With it he touched my mouth and said , " your guilt is taken away and your sins are atoned for.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, : Whom shall I send ? And who will go for us ? And I said . " Here am I send me ! "
Thanks for your encouragement Olda
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matt 11:28-30
ReplyDelete“Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;” Ps 37:7a
“For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. 'Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 'You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. 'I will be found by you,' declares the LORD” Jeremiah 29:11-14a
“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:1-8
“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.” II Corinthians 4:8-11 (NASB)
